Innis one for 10. COMBINED PRESS CLUB A meeting of the Gteneral Committee of the Christchurch Combined Press Club was held last evening, Mr D. Morgan presiding. Concerning the match with the Wellington Press Club on Saturday next at the Hagley Park Oval, it was reported that excellent support had been forthcoming in the various city newspaper offices. Messrs C. L. King and H. J. Fleming were appointed to arrange for two umpires. Offers of the loan of motor-cars for the transport of the teams during the day were received from Messrs J. Jackman, H. Bell, E. Hartley Smith, V. Burrowes and O. Walker, and those gentlemen accorded a vote of thanks. The Selection Committee reported that the following players had been chosen to represent the Christchurch Club:— C. L. King and H. J. Fleming (“Sun”), E. H. Smith, A. Marriott, E. Colwill and G. W. Russell (captain), (“Christchurch Times”), J. Mahoney, A. Adams, C. Haase, A. Allardyce, C. Williams and E. Stoneman (twelfth man) (“Press”). N. F. Archer (club field captain) is not available. Mr J. Jackman was elected manager of the team, and Messrs A. H. Carrington and E. C. Marris were appointed official scorers. The time of starting the match was altered to 9.45 a.m. VETERANS’ CLUB.
