WIDENED CITY BRIDGE WILL BE OPENED TO-DAY
The upstream side of the widened Colombo Street bridge will be opened for traffic to-day. The downstream side has been open for some time, but the non-arrival on time of hardwood from Australia caused delay in the work on the other side. Workmen were engaged to-day in finishing off the tarring of the roadway and footpath. The bridge now provides ample room for all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
