LADY, BLEDISLOE SENDS CHEQUE TO DR GORDON.

Per Press Association. STRATFORD. April 2. Indicative of Lady Bledisloe’s interest in problems affecting the well-being of New Zealanders is the receipt by Dr Doris Gordon, secretary of the Obstetrical Society, of a substantial cheque from her Excellency to be a donation to the Dominion fund for obstetrical endowment. With it, Lady Bledisloe sent a mes sage expressing her personal sympathy with the objects of the appeal and her best wishes that it will soon terminate as a complete success. Her Excellency has consented to speak at the final function to be hold on April 9 for the appeal in the Canterbury area. Dr Gordon says that news has come that the first town in the Auckland district to secure its quota is Rotorua. In the Wellington district, Waverlev, Marton, Taihape and Martinborough have exceeded the assessments requested of them. Dr Gordon says that this is deserving of commendation.
