Upon the recommendation of the Fire Board, the City Council'last evening was asked to limit parking in Lichfield Street between Madras and Manchester Streets to twenty minutes during clay and night. The Fire Board pointed out the danger that would exist if the Fire Brigade was called to that portion of the city when a performance was in progress in the Majestic Theatre. Councillor E. H. Andrews said that he would like the By-laws Committee to take the clause back for consideration. Cars should be permitted only on one side of the street, and that was not made clear in the report. It was agreed to refer the report back, giving the committee power to act.
