Holmdale, from Timaru, was an arrival at Lyttelton this morning to load for Wellington and Wanganui. She leaves for the north this evening. Foxton is expected here to-day from Foxton to load for that port. Calm should arrive at Lyttelton tomorrow from southern ports to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Storm is due at Lyttelton to-morrow from Wellington. She will leave Lyttelton to-morrow afternoon for Dunedin, ♦ >amaro and Timaru. The vessel is heduled to return here on April 8 tc ~,ad for Wellington and Wanganui. Kaimiro will be dispatched from Lyttelton to-day for "Wellington and Auckland. Totara was an arrival this morning from Timaru. The vessel will load nere to-day for Wellington, and Westport, mailing this evening. Karepo is now expected at Lyttelton to-morrow from Auckland, via Wellington. She should leave for Dunedin and Timaru to-morrow evening. Kaitoke, now loading for Auckland, is scheduled to leave for that port on Thursday. Waipahi. from Dunedin, via Oamaru and Timaru. should arrive here on Thursday morning to complete her loading for Wellington. Napier and Gisborne. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's liner Zealandic was dispatched from Lyttelton at noon to-day for Timaru, Nelson and Wellington. MAKURA MAKING GOOD PROGRESS. The Makura, wnloh left Wellington at noon on Friday for Sydney, has experienced fine weather since leaving, and is making fair speed. She expects to arri\e at Sydney this afternoon. PLUME. The Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Plume is due at Auckland from San Francisco to-day. The vessel has a full cargo of bulk oil for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. CITY OF WINNIPEG. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Winnipeg cleared New York on March 17 and Newport News on March 20 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on REMUERA’S DEPARTURE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the departure of- the liner Remuera, from Wellington for Southampton and London, has been postponed until daybreak to-morrow. THE PORT NAPIER. The . LONDON, March 31. The twenty-first report of the Port o*f London Authority emphasises the fact that London is the most extensive port in the world, stretching over sixtynine miles. It includes 170 miles of docks and wharves, the docks alone having a water area of 723 acres. Some of the. docks can take vessels drawing thirty-seven feet. London’s overseas trade is valued at £700,000,000 annually. More wool is brought there than to any other port in Britain, while 70 per cent of the meat handled in London comes through the port.
