FATALITY OCCURS WHEN MOTOR GOES OVER BANK

Edward Patrick Coakley, a farmer of Spring Terrace, Cheviot, was killed as the result of his motor-car leaving the road on Saturday evening when he was returning home along the Lemington Road. * Mr Coakley had attended the Cheviot trots on Saturday afternoon, going home for tea and returning to the township. He left Cheviot late at night for home and the accident occurred when he was approaching a curve on a hillside road. His car got out of control, leaving the road and dropping to the steep bank below. It turned over three or four times. Deceased was found near the car, his neck apparently- having been broken. The night was foggyMr Coakley was a single man, aged thirty-two years, living on his farm with his mother. He was very well known in the Cheviot district, where his family have been established for many years.
