"THE LOCKED DOOR” AT THE CIVIC THEATRE.
Mr I.eslie V, Harvey. who play's the grand concert organ in conjunction with the talking picture programme at the Civic Theatre, has as his principal selection this week the "William Tell” overture, but he also includes popular numbers in his programme. The all-talking dramatic romance " The Locked Door,” which is the main film, is a thrilling picture play, in which the interest centres chiefly round a wife's endeavour to prevent the incrimination of her husband in a shooting tragedy. Acting honours go to Barbara Stanwyck and to Rod La Rocque. Beautiful scenic views in colour, of Italy, “ The Mirror Dance.” and " The Buzzard ” are accompanied on the organ by Mr Harvey. The first of a series of new sound-synchronised cartoons by the creator of “ Mickey Mouse” is very amusing.
