Excellent Prospects For Timaru Trots.

TO-MORROW’S PROGRAMME HAS ATTRACTED SOME GOOD FIELDS

The Timaru Trotting Club’s meeting will be held to-morrow. There is a capital acceptance for all the events, and the meeting should be very successful. The following is the programme:— Noon. KINGSDOWN HANDICAP (in harness), of 130 so vs. One mile and a half. Dilfashion scr Micky Audubon 4S Enigma scr Saka Bona <*o Eringo f'cr Avoness <2 Merrijigs scr Great Harvester .2 North Queen scr stand By R4' Our Bingen see Accumulator 1 -■ 0 Qulncey Thorpe scr There is a field of thirteen in the mile and a half trotters' race, and the winner should come from Merrijigs or Dilfashion, both of whom are on the limit. Saka Bona looks the best of the back markers. 3 3.40 p.m. TRIAL HANDICAP (in harness), of 130 sovs. One mile and a half. Ganville scr Eiffelton Lass 12 Lady Antrim scr Harold Logan 1Ladv Satinwood scr Happy Lass It Ladv Zephyr scr Jolly Maid 12 Mahara scr Mister Pointer 24 Xorwester scr Otaio Rose 24 Ola Pointer scr Lily Bingen 24 TJlm scr Achray Valehead scr Warrenore 4 b There are a lot of promising young pacers in the slow class mile and a half event. Ola Pointer won at Kaikoura. but she will be meeting much stronger opposition. Ulm is improving, and Valehead is useful. These seem the best of the limit division. If Eiffelton Lass were in her best form she should account for all on the 12yds mark. Otaio Rose, Lily Bingen and Mister Pointer are a strong trio on the ■24yds mark. The placings may be Ulm, Eiffelton Lass and Otaio Rose. 1.30 p.m. TIMARU CUP HANDICAP (in harness), of 500 sovs. Two miles. Avenger scr Athalone 36 Hector's Own scr Mate o' Mine 36 Jolly Pet scr Omaha 36 Native Queen scr Pluto _ 36 Great Logan scr Real Light 36 Lingfield 12 The Shrew 36 Talent 24 Jean M’Elwyn 48 There is quite a strong field for the chief two mile event. Great Logan should beat Avenger. Hector's Own, Jolly Pet and Native Queen off the limit. Lingfield, who is on 12yds, has not been rat ing well of late, but Talent is on the top of his form, judged by his showing at the Otahuhu Club’s meeting. Athalone is such a good stayer that his chance cannot be discounted, but Omaha’s last performance over the distance gives him a decided advantage from a time test. Real Light, if he made a good beginning, would be troublesome, and Jean M’Elwyn's consistency is deserving of a win. Omaha, Talent and Great Logan should fill the places. 2.15 p.m.) SEADOWX HANDICAP (in harness), of IGO sovs. One mile and a half. Oreat Abdullah scr Baron Bingen 12 Jessie Huon scr Golden Dillon 24 Le Thorpe scr John Noble 24 Peter Wilkin scr Vikota 24 Pink Sugar scr Wild V 03 r age 24 Sonoma Laddie scr Editor 36 Regal Voyage 12 Sandy Pointer 48 Mac Locanda 12 Pink Sugar raced well on the Timaru track at the last meeting, and off the limit should be very hard to beat. Le Thorpe has been showing a partial return to form, and Sonoma Laddie will not be troubled by the distance. Mac Locanda did not race well at Welling-

ton. where, however, the track was very bad. Baron Bingen is partial to the distance, and may race well, as will John Noble and Sandy Pointer. The tinal should be fought out between Pink Sugar, John Noble and Sandy Pointer. TEMUKA HANDICAP (in harness), of 150 so vs. Two miles. Eva Reta ser Nelson Prince Rcr St Petrox ser Accumulator scr Kyra ser C.reat Nelson 4S Jade 3 2 New Metford 72 The smallest field of the day is in the two-mile harness race for trotters, there being eight acceptors, with six of them on the limit. If Jade has improved in stamina sh'e should be hard to beat, as the Coldstream Bells mare has a good deal of speed. -St Petrox is very solid, and is sure to race soundly all the way. Nelson's Prince showed improvement in stamina in his last effort, but Accumulator is very uncertain in his gait. Great Nelson is one of the improving sort, and the brother to Great Bingen and Peter Bingen is on the improve. New Metford has been racing well of late. The final order should be Great Nelson, Jade and St Petrox. 3.45 p.m. WASHDYIvE HANDICAP (in harness), of 220 sovs. One mile and a quarter. Eugene de Oro scr Warepa 3 2 Great Triumph scr Granite City 2 4 Morning Sun scr Muriel de Oro 36 Roddy scr Lingfield 36 John Jinks 12 Hector’s Own 4S Logan Princess 12 Pluto 4S Rolex 12 There is a very useful field in the mile and a quarter event, which should provide one of the best contests of the day. Eugene de Oro and Roddy read best on the limit, but there is a strong contingent on 12yds in John Jinks, Logan Princess, Rolex and Warepa. Muriel de Oro and Hector’s Own seem to be the best of the back markers. The final result may see John Jinks, Logan Princess and Muriel de Oro filling the places. 4.25 p.m. FAIRLIE HANDICAP (in harness), of 170 sovs. Two Miles. Denver’s Doll scr Kelp 12 Dipnoi scr Salient 3 2 Mary Locanda scr Mac de Oro 24 Mountain Ore scr Nelson de Oro 36 .Baby Logan 3 2 Mercury 36 Jacky Logan 12 Shady The slow class two-mile rac<; has a useful field engaged. Mountain Ore and Denver’s Doll appear best of the limit division, and Jacky Logan and Salient on 12yds should also show up prominently. Shady Spot, on 48vds. is a fine stayer. Denver’s Doll, Jacky Logan and Salient are likely to be in the places at the finish. 5.15 p.m.) WAI-ITI HANDICAP (in saddle), of 170 sovs. One mile. Ecstasy scr Lough Noagh 24 Golden Dillon scr Cushla d'Or 30 Routine scr Bing Boy 36 Vikota sck Horotane 36 Young Bingen scr JCrina 36 Gibraltar 12 Warepa 4S Wild Spur 12 The mile saddle event will conclude the day’s racing. Ecstasy and Young Bingen should beat the others on the limit, and Gibraltar looks the best of the 12yds division. Lough Neagh and Cushla d’Or, on 24vds, are a fast parr, and Krina, if she goes away right, will be* hard to beat off 36yds. Krina. Cushla d'Or and Young Bingen should fill the places.
