TWO PERSONS GET GUNSHOT WOUNDS

MARRIED COUPLE ARE MISTAKEN FOR GAME.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 10. Shot in mistake for game, Mr and Mrs F. Wall, a young married couple, of Wiri, were ordered to the Auckland Hospital after receiving medical treatment at Papatoetoe last evening. Mrs Wall, who was well peppered with shot, was admitted to hospital, and her husband was allowed to return home after receiving treatment. While sitting among a clump of bush in a paddock at Wiri about 7 o’clock the young couple, who are employed on a farm at Wiri, were wounded with gun shot. Mr and Mrs Wall were packing up prior to going home after a picnic, and their movements attracted the attention of two men who were out hunting rabbits and hares. One of the sportsmen, mistaking the cause of the movement, and scenting the possibility of a kill, immediately fired, wounding both people.
