THE TWO BLACK CROWS IN “WHY BRING THAT UP?”

The season of “Why Bring That Up,” which is tho first talking picture made in Hollywood by Moran and Mack, the Two Black Crows, will open at Crystal Palace Theatre on next Monday. This picture is not merely of interest on account of the presence in the cast of these famous and original comedians, but it is a picture itself of very definite appeal, a comedy, of course, all-talking, a bright, vivacious story, with a Broadway background, as much humour and comedy as one could wish for, some romantic interest, and more than a suggestion of drama and suspense. And with all this is the dual personality of the Two Black Crows, who are infinitely more amusing on the audible screen than they were entrenched behind the sound-box of a gramophone. Evelyn Brent and Harry Green are two other important members of the cast, the one a “gold-digging chorine,” the other the manager for the

comedians, and these four, an ill-match-ed quartet, are continually keeping their listeners in a happy frame of mind. The amusing and not a little pathetic state of perpetual squabbling that goes on among the four during the story is one of the main factors in its success as a comedy, for the story of “Why Bring That Up?” Is as human as it is humorous. Of course, one of the principal attractions of this comedy is the dialogue, that famous brand of fun which only Moran and Mack can dispense, nonsensical, absurd, consistently funny. In “Why Bring That Up?” this dialogue is bright to a fine art. The story, the Broadway glamour, the singing, the dancing, in fact, the whole glorious show, mark it as the finest talkie comedy that could be desired. The box plans open at The Bristol Piano Company on Thursday morning.
