LYTTELTON GUN CLUB HAS TROPHY MATCjH. . P° The Lyttelton Gun Club held a nin£- € bird trophy match on its ground. Officers’ Point, on Saturday. The prfcr ceeds from this match (£4 ss) are D© l go towards the expenses of the Corfc£ well Cup crew r , which is to Lyttelton at Dunedin. There was good muster of Christchurch and also representatives from RangioiSh Club. . . tr E. Radcliffe won the first prize in t!*r trophy shoot. E. Hammond second, Ae N. Turner third and 11. M. W fourth. M Three sweepstake matches were shot. The first was divided by J. J. Mat thews, A. Taylor and A. N. Turner witL all on. The second was divided by P Brightling, K. Ow’ers, A. Brightling. RadclifFe and E. Hammond with onW off. The third was divided by Ah Brightling. and A. N. Turner. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies of the Canterbury Yacht Club. EXCURSION TO WEST COAST. The Lyttelton Social Club is arrans- e ing for a further railway excursion t^ e Grevmouth and Hokitika on February 23. The committee have also arranged motor trips both from Gre\ mouth and Hokitika. Blackberries wiH 1 be in season. , la SCHOOLS REOPEN. The Lyttelton Borough School and the District High School, which were closed for an additional week s holiday owing to the alterations to the school building not being completed, reopened yesterday morning. BOWLING CLUB. The final of the Lyttelton Bowling Club’s champion pairs resulted in a win for E. W. Brown and J. M’Cormick, who defeated J. R. Wilson and H. 11. Barnard by 19 points to 18. The club is holding a progressive doubles for club members on Saturday next, for trophies presented by Mr W. S. Davies.
