Yesterday afternoon, the Christchurch Municipal Band gave a concert at the Cave Rock rotunda, Sumner. There was a large attendance of residents and visitors, and the perfect weather enabled them to hear an excellent programme to advantage. Mr J. Noble was conductor. The following was the programme, amongst which were pieces selected for the band contest which takes place in three weeks’ time:— March, “ Ravenwood ’’; hymns, “Eternal Father ” and “ Fierce Raged the Tempest ”; contest selection, “ Semiramide”; march, “Colonel Bogey”; contest suite, “Zamora”; selection, “Parsifal”; concert waltz, “Birds of Paradise.”
