KAIKOURA NEWS.
MINISTER OF EDUCATION WILL MAKE VISIT SOON. The Minister of Education, the Hon H. Atmore, will be in Kaikoura on Wednesday evening. lie will be met by members of the council and School Committees. The Minister will be entertained at luncheon, and will then receive deputations in connection with local educational matters. THE WEATHER. Exceptionally heavy showers fell early on Saturday morning. DANCE. A dance organised by members of the Suburban Hall Committee was held in the hall on Friday evening. There was a moderate attendance. The lucky spot was won by Miss E. Crawford and Mr Hughey Smith, and the Monte Carlo dance by Miss M. Norrie and Mr C. J. Brunei. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mr W. Thomas. Messrs 11. Smith and S. Sharpe were M.C.’s.
