CAR PLUNGES OVER A BANK, INJURING TWO.
Per Press Association. WAIPUKURAU, February 3. A serious motor accident occurred on the hill near the Pukeora Sanatorium yesterday afternoon. A car driven by J. J. Mansfield, of Palmerston North, coq&iining his wife and three children and his niece, when proceeding from Palmerston North to Napier, plunged over a thirty-foot bank owing to the steering rod breaking. Mrs Mansfield was thrown through the windscreen, sustaining extensive cuts, abrasions and shock. A daughter was badly crushed about the chest and body, and was admitted to the Waipukurau Hospital in a serious condition. The other occupants are suffering from bruises and shock.
