HINTS TO BATHERS.

(Written for the “Star,” by “Beltman.”) Incoming Tides— To-day: 4 a.m. till 10.11 a.m.; 4.25 pan. till 10.39 p.m. To-morrow: 4.52 a.m. till 11.5 a.m.; 5.20 p.m. till 11.35 p.m. There are a great many average swimmers who could enjoy the surf considerably more if it were not for the difficulty they experience when among the breakers. In endeavouring to go through or over them they are tossed about and get the impression that there is more danger than really exists. When a breaker approaches, if a swimmer either dives under or sinks below the surface, there is no more difficulty than in still watet.
