WEDDING.

Hill—Man tell. Brilliant sunshine favoured an afternoon ceremony at St Paul’s Church, Cashel Street, Christchurch, where many friends gathered in honour ot the marriage of Annie May, youngest daughter of Mrs J. C. Phillips and the late Mr F. Mantell, 565, Gloucester Street, to Reginald Hill, youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs Hill, of Linwood. The Rev W. Feist, of New Brighton, officiated. The bride was escorted by her stepfather, Mr J. C. Phillips. Her charming frock was fashioned of heavy ivory crepe triple georgette. The simple bodice relieved in hand-worked floral design was caught with a spray of orange blossom let into a large bow at the side. The long sleeves were finished at the wrists with a godet let in falling loosely from the wrist band and finished off with pearls. On the left shoulder a spray of orange blossom was worn. She carried a handkerchief fifty years old. The two-tiered skirt of georgette fell into a long waterfall panel below the hem on either side over ivory Spanish lace. Her embroidered tulle veil was arranged in a close-fitting cap with a coronet of pearls and wreath of orange blossom. A cream and white bouquet of Christmas lilies, orange blossom and roses, completed her toilette. Little Gwen Mantell, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Mantell, of Dunedin, and niece of the bride, presented the bride with a lucky horseshoe. Miss Marion Grose, niece of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid, wearing a frock of apricot and delphinium blue georgette, with tight-fitting bodice and circular skirt falling longer at the sides, and finished with a bow of georgette on the left shoulder. She w r ore a hat of blue Bangkok straw, and carried a bouquet &f flame-coloured roses and sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Frank Grose, nephew of the bridegroom, as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Cadena, where the bride’s mother received her guests wearing a frock of navy blue crepe de chine, relieved with beige, and hat to tone, her bouquet being of red roses and maidenhair fern. Mrs T. Grose, the bridegroom’s sister, wore a frock of floral georgette and a hat of fine navy blue straw. Her bouquet was of pink roses and maidenhair fern. The happy couple left later for the north on a motoring tour, the bride wearing a turquoise blue satin back crepe de chine frock ,under a silver musquash coat and a hat to tone.
