MACDONALD ENGAGED ON CONFERENCE WORK.

The Prime Minister, who is spending the Christinas Parliamentary recess at his native town, Lossiemouth, Scotland, has been closely engaged during the past week with work relating to the Five-Power Naval Conference, which opens on January 21. He has been in telephonic communication daily with Downing Street, and has kept in the closest touch with developments in connection with the conference. Mr MacDonald is due to leave for London on Thursday, and on Saturday will meet a party of delegates, who are to be present at the conference.
