DIRT-TRACK RIDERS FORM ASSOCIATION.
TO PROTECT INTERESTS OF MEN AND SPORT. Dissatisfaction -" : *h the present handicap system at Monica Park Speedway and with the idea that the interests of the men would be better pro tected, are two of the reasons why the ’oral dirt-track riders met last night and formed a Dirt-Track Riders* Associa tion. Various recommendations wer p made to the local racing promoters. C'hristchurch Stadiums, Ltd., which it is expected will be discussed shortly The following officers were appoint er Mr P. R. Climie (patron), Mr R E. Russell (president ) r Mr E. R Marsh (vice-president) and Mr T Carter (secretary). Mr R. E. Russell, the president of the newlv-formed association, states that it was the opinion of the riders that the interests of both the public and the riders would be served by the inauguration of the association. The meeting had discussed various matters and had forwarded recommendations to the management, by which it was hoped better sport and better finishes would be produced.
