Engagements Announced. The engagement is announced of Jean, younger daughter of Mrs R. Thomson, St Martins, Christchurch, and of the late Robert Thomson, of Oxford, North Canterbury, to John Morison, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Tait, Grafton, Auckland, formerly of Nelson. The engagement is announced of Miss Dora Peek, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Peek, of 110, James Street, Redcliffs, to Mr John JoblinStanley, second son of the late Mr W. J. Joblin-Stanley and Mrs W. J. JoblinStanley, of 25, Freeman Street, Richmond, late of St Martins. Miss Kimura San. Miss Kimura San is coming to New Zealand- Miss Kimura San is the little Japanese girl, highly educated, with strings of imposing letters after her name, who is arriving here in two months’ time to take up Y.W.C.A. work in New Zealand. At present she is in Australia, and has been entertained right royally there. In Melbourne 400 Tapanese women were given a tea at which she was the guest of honour. She has beauty, charm and intelligence, and her arrival in this country should mark a further stage in the advance of that spirit of international fellowship for which the Y.W.C.A. stands.
