LATE COMMERCIAL.

TIN WALD STOCK SALE. (Special to the “Star.”) ASHBURTON. January 7. There was a fair attendance at the Tinwald stock sale to-day. It was the first sale after the holidays. The yarding was above the average, consisting principally of fat ewes. Practically no heavy-weight wethers were forward and lighter sorts met with a poor demand. Bidding throughout was easier. About 400 fat lambs were yarded, the best up to midday realising up to 20s and down to 245. Fat wethers brought frpm 27s lid to 2Ss, and ewes from 15s to 19s 6d. There was a small entry of cattle, one fat cow bringing £8 10s, three calves 36s each, and three empty heifers £3 apiece.
