MODEL YACHTS RACE ON VICTORIA LAKE.
The Christchurch Model Yacht Club sailed the fifteenth club race of the season on Saturday at Victoria Lake. The wind was very boisterous from the west. Seven boats competed under the supervision of the club commodore, Mr O. BEkensteen. Following were the results:— FIRST HEAT. J L. Ruxton’s Hula (hep. 3min msec) 1 H. J. Bowlker’s Ruth (2min lOsec) .. 2 S. W. Smith’s Charlie (lmin 20sec) 3 A. Smith’s Solomon (9min) 4 Tl. Munro’s Ida (2min 40sec) 5 Time—3 5m in. SECOND HEAT. J. L. Ruxton's Huia 1 S. W. Smith’s Charlie 2 H. Hodge’s Kea (scr) 2 R. Munro’s Isa 4 Time—32min. The race finally resulted:— Huia (16 points) 1 Charlie (S points) 2 Ruth (5 points) 3 The first two heats in an eight-lieat race for the president’s prizes will be sailed next Saturday.
