FRACAS OCCURS AMONG BOWLERS.
OFFICIAL HITS PLAYER ON LINWOOD GREEN
A regrettable incident occurred on the Linwood Bowling Club’s green late on Saturday afternoon during the progress of one of the games in the club championships. Following an argument regarding the play in one of the heads, one player who occupies a prominent position in the club is said to have attacked an other player while the latter was in the act of delivering his bowl, striking him in the mouth. A fight between the two players ensued, according to the report, both men receiving injuries which necessitated medical attention
It is further alleged that language of an unparliamentary character was used by the aggressor in the contest. Members of the club have taken a serious view of the matter, and an inquiry will be held by the committee tonight. Drastic action is likely to be taken by the club against the principal offender.
