MOTORISTS JUST ESCAPE DROWNING.
CAR TAKES PLUNGE IN 5 FEET OF WATER. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 6. Pinned in a motor-car when it swerved from the road near Penrose on Saturday evening and partially capsized in five feet of water, C. M. Cox, his wife and son, had a narrow escape from being drowned. Cox scrambled clear, and dragged out his wife who was semi-conscious from striking her head, and extracted with difficulty his son, who was pinned beneath the seat. Artificial respiration had to be used to restore the son to consciousness.
