HEATHCOTE NOTES.
The death occurred in the Christchurch Hospital last week of James Thomas Hay, in his fifty-fifth year. Born in Asting. Shetland Isles, in 1375, the late Mr Hay came to New Zealand about twenty years ago. and settled in Heathcote Valley sixteen years ago. He made many friends since that time. For the earlier years of his life the deceased was a seafaring man, but later was employed by the Railway Department. He leaves a widow and two children. Ttic funeral, which took place at the Bromley Cemetery, was well attended, the service being conducted by the Rev A. l\rDowell and Pastor Read. The pall-bearers were Messrs W. Cogle. G. Hay. G. Tulloch and F. King. Many wreaths were sent. PERSONAL. Mr S. Wyman is spending the holidays with his parents, Mr and Mrs T. .Wyman. Smith Street. Mr \V. Connolly is spending » *oiv day in the North Island. Mr W. M’Laren, West Coast, is the guest of Mrs M’Laren, Station Road The many friends of Mrs Colville will be pleased to hear that she has returned home from the hospital. Mrs Harvey and her son. Stuart, are spending the holidays at Sumner.
