CYCLIST SWERVED IN FRONT OF CAR.
Per Press Association. GISBORNE, January 3. A young man named Christopher Jobson, while returning from Tolaga Bay late last evening, was seriously injured when his cycle swervfed in front of an overtaking lorry driven by Dave Tautau. The injured man was not an expert cyclist and evidently became confused by the noise of the approaching lorry, which left the crown of the road to pass him but failed to avoid a collision when Jobson also swerved. Jobson’s condition is reported to be serious. His injuries include a fractured skull and a broken arm.
