A WOMAN’S POINT OF VIEW.
CLOTHES AND THE WOMAN. Oh, conscious or unconscious criticism, now developed in us so that we ever keep a wary eye on the other woman! Sometimes it may lead us to detect the stolen coat, as the shop manageress did at the trots; but how often does it really show us the woman. In so far as clothes are an indication of character we may glimpse her; but—(l hate to be too right about this), we so generally see her “ rig,” analyse it, select or reject what we think correct, and by the time we have completed the process, swift as it is, we have forgotten to look at the woman. Are clothes worth more study than the human face ? Mayhap we might find some gem beneath the debris. B.E.S.
