The traffic authorities of San Francisco were called upon to handle the arrival and departure of some 20,000 motor-cars in connection with the annual football match between Stanford University and Southern California University, at the Stanford ground, near San Francisco. A small army of officials wa9 engaged, the parking spaces were mapped off, and each official had written instructions as to hs particular duties. It is stated that about an hour and a half after the termination of the game the parking spaces had been
