The popularity of Mr Reg Stillwell's Dance Assembly was evidenced in the very successful holiday dances. On Tuesday evening the Caledonian Hall was crowded to its utmost capacity when a New Year's Eve Carnival Dance was held. Old and new dances were featured and hundreds of entertaining novelties were distributed. Just prior to midnight, Mr Reg Stillwell, in a brief speech extended New Year Greetings to all past and present dancers. He stated that his assembly had had a non-stop run for twelve'years and had become firmly established as a result of providing healthy and properly conducted dances. He requested all dancers to cooperate with him in the new year by still keeping dancing on the high level of respectability. At midnight, when the old year was passing and the New Year was coming in, amidst an outburst of enthusiasism all dancers joined hands and sang VAuld Lang Syne.” On New Year’s Day the assembly held a dance at the St Asaph Street Hall, when over two hundred dancers were present. Mr H Walton's band supplied the music on each occasion.
