Hill (Meremere Street) left yesterday to be the guests of Mrs W. H. Helmore (*‘Koromiko,” Timaru). The engagement is announced in a northern exchange of Linda Mary Bray, younger daughter of Mrs C. G. Downes and the late Mr A. J. Bray, of Te Awamutu, to the Rev Melville Newton, younger son of Mr and Mrs C. T Newton, of Christchurch. Latest arrivals at the Mount Pleasant Rest House include:—Mrs J. La very, Spreydon, to John Henry Glover (Jock) only son of Mr and Mrs H. Glover, Spreydon, was solemnised at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Addington. The Rev. Father McKeon officiated.
