WOLF CUBS’ CAMP ENDED YESTERDAY.
The camp for the combined packs of Wolf Cubs, held at Charteris Bav since December 27, was closed on yesterday afternoon. Over 200 cubs and officers were in camp, and the whole week passed off pleasurably without accident. On New Year's Day the camp sports had to be postponed owing to the heavy rain, but earlier in the day the Chief Commissioner, Colonel P. C. Fenwick, conducted an inspection, and was welcomed by the cubs' grand howl. Various jungle dances were performed by the boys, arranged in three groups. The principal officers of the camp were:—Mr 11. Desmond (quartermaster), Miss K. J. Scotter (Akela), Mr J. Powell (Baloo) and Miss A. Wilson (Bagheera). The camp was attended by a trained nurse, Mrs C. Blair, of Lyttelton, but only minor injuries needed her attention.
