MYSTERY TALKIE FOR THE CRYSTAL PALACE.

The vogue of mystery plots for talking pictures flourishes apace, and the finest example of this to date is claimed to be found in “ The Mysterious Dr Fu Manchu,” the picturisation of Sax Rohmer’s famous book, which is to be presented at Crystal Palace Theatre next week. The tens of thousands who have pored rapturously over the pages of this highly exciting and sinister mystery story will find that the talking picture is even more thrilling, more eerie, more altogether delightfully mysterious than the original. The picture is, of course, all talking, and that is another factor in its success. Warner Oland both acts and speaks well as Fu Manchu, and he gives a marvellous rendering of the part of the wily and urbane Celestial. Jean Arthur, Neil Hamilton, O. P. Heggie and William Austin are also in the cast, the lastnamed creating a diversion as the only comedian. The box plans for the season will open at The Bristol Piano Company to-morrow morning.
