PRESIDENT PARDONS M. LEON DAUDET.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 30. The Paris correspondent of ‘‘The Times” states that President Doumergue has annulled the convictions of Leon Daudet, Camille Renee, and other political offenders. Daudet is going to Paris on January 2 from Belgium. Leon Daudet, French author and Royalist, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment in connection with an alleged libel concerning the death of his sen Philippe. He charged the police with conniving at the lad’s murder, after his body had been found in a taxi-cab. After the ensuing libel ac tion, and sentence, Daudet refused to give himself up and withstood a siege lasting three days in the office of his paper, “Action Francaise.” After surrendering, he was liberated by a clever hoax practised by the Royalists, and bis whereabouts have not been known to the French police, though he has continued to contribute to his paper.
