RADIO PROGRAMMES.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—Regarding “Crystal Owner’s” letter in last night’s “Star”, I am very much afraid that I cannot give him any sympathy in his trouble, i.e., 3YA jamming up 3ZC’s transmission. Why did not “Crystal Owner” back up “Aerial” and a few more of us when a short time ago, through the correspondence columns of the “Star”, we tried to create order out of chaos in regard to “jamming” roarers, etc? Why cry out about the 30s a year we pay, even if we listen to songs of a high-class variety generally rendered in a language we don’t understand, although, at the end of each item, we show our appreciation, so that friends present will not think that we do not understand foreign languages. We don’t. But why show that one is ignorant, even if one owns a “radio” ? Since we have paid the said 30s for the above, we must allow for upkeep of the “radio” as well. So why let such a small item as “jamming” roarers, foreign languages, high-class music, lack of humorous items (the last would be useful to tone down the above fare), and last, but not least, why try and add worry, lines of care, etc., etc., to already overworked P. and T. officials,- under whose care the matter of jamming and roarers should abide? But apparently they do not. No, Crystal Owner, the fault is partly your own, and I wish you a very happy Christmas with your crystal s-et, attempting to pick which station is entertaining you most at the same time—3YA or 3ZC. Perhaps after the holidays are over you will write to the editor of the “Star” and tell him, and all of us, your impressions, or expressions, on “radio jamming”.—l am, etc., J.E.W.
