Advice has been received that the Union Company s steamer Manuka, en route from Bluff to Dunedin, went ashore at Long Point (off the Catlins district) about 11 o'clock last night in a heavy fog. The weather was calm. The passengers are believed to have been taken ashore bg the ship's boats. The tug Dunedin has been dispatched to the Manuka's assistance.
