PUPILS’ RECITAL.
A recital was given on Saturday evening by the pupils of Miss Mina Ward, F.T.C.L., L.A.8., at her residence in Manchester Street, and an enjoyable evening was spent by the many pupils and friends present. The programme was an interesting one. After supper Mr Jack Watts, on behalf of her pupils, presented Miss Ward with a handsome Chinese brass vase and spoke in eulogistic terms of the efforts put forth by Miss Ward to impart to her pupils a true appreciation of good music. Among those present were:—Mesdames Ward, B. B. Irwin, Freeman, Ashman, O’Brien, Doughty, Loughnan, Misses Ethne Lancaster, Anthea Loughnan, P. Simpson, E. Macleodsmith, Dorothy Hales, M. Eiby, Morkane (2), G. R. Grange, Sussmilche, Mr and Mrs Gladstone Ward, Mr and Mrs Cyril J. Ward, Dr Morkane, Mr and Mrs Colin Macdonald. Miss Mina Ward, Miss Roma Ashman, L.T.C.L., and Miss Mavis O’Brien, A.T.C.L., contributed items to the programme. The following pupils gave items:—Ethel and Clare Morton, Pat Griffin, Myrcine Ward, Lawrence Manion, Tom Finnertv, Mignon MacDonald, William Ilorgan, Gwen Grange, Harry Armstrong, Marjorie Mauger, A.Mus.T.C.L., Theresa and Cyril J. Ward, Dick Barron, Jean Cherry, Jack Watts, Nancy M’Cullough, Jack Bray, Roby Watts, Anthea Loughnan, Sydney Watts and Jack Blackmore.
