THEATRE AND CABARET FOR RICCARTON.
COMPANY TO BE FORMED TO ERECT BIG BUILDING. A number of Christchurch business men have purchased a block of land at the corner of Riccarton Road and Rata Street, Riccarton, for the purpose of erecting a motion picture theatre and cabaret. Plans for the building have been prepared and very shortly the prospectus will be issued to the public for the formation of a companv to undertake the project. It is proposed that the theatre shah provide seating accommodation lor 800 people, and it will be quipped for talkies. The dancing cabaret will be included in the same building. A reporter who made inquiries today was informed that it was impossible to say when a start was likelv to be made with the building.
