BATHING FOR HEALTH.
To tire Editor. Dear Sir,—l write to congratulate the writer of the very fine article by Owen Baxter in Saturday’s “ Star.’’ I have read it with a great amount of pleasure. I have been a bather in river and sea all my life. lam seventy-three in May next, and bathe all the year round. I don t wait for the summer months to go in. Coming up from Dunedin only last month, I stayed off at Timaru for three days, Monday, Tuesday and Wed nesday, and the second morning I was there I was up at 4.30 and into the sea, swimming out to the buoy each morning at 4.45 or a few minutes later. And then I was not the first or on'} one, as a lady and gentleman were there before me and half a dozen before I left. I think it was one of the nice-t swims that I remember to have had, especially of late years, owing to the* fine bathing facilities there, I suppose. I have the honour to be patron of o iTaylor’s Mistake Surf and Life Saving Club since its inception, and I am very proud of it, you may be sure. I only hope we shall see some mo-e articles of a like nature in your very valuable paper.—l am, etc,, A. P. OSBORN.
