MORE MINERS REJECT SETTLEMENT TERMS.
STATE GOVERNMENT WILL OPEN TWO PITS. (United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received December 9, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 9. The northern miners with the exception of a few small lodges have rejected the terms approved by the miners’ delegates. The Rothbury miners, however, are demanding a secret ballot The Minister for Mines, Mr Weaver, has received applications from skilled miners sufficient to man the Rothbury pit' and another mine of similar size. If there is no prospect of the miners resuming work, the Government will man the mines, and if the miners refuse work that is offered them the Government will withdraw the dole.
