REPORT ON PROPOSED CREMATORIUM FOR CITY DUE SHORTLY.
Ever since Councillor Annie Fraer was elected to the City Council she na& repeatedly advocated the erection ot a crematorium for the city, and it is prob able that a report concerning the matter will be presented to the council early in the New Year. The City Engineer (Mr A. R. Galbraith) informed a reporter to-day that he had obtained information concerning the crematoriums in New Zealand, excepting the one at Dunedin. A pro posal to send a representative of the council to Dunedin to obtain information was now under consideration by the committee. Information had aisc been obtained from Japan, Melbo irne and Adelaide.
