Church Music.
The school of English Church Music has done well in the short time that it has been established, and it cannot be doubted that it has set the ball rolling which will continue to roll. It carries on its work quietly at Chislehurst, and Sunday by Sunday during term time the choir come up to Saint Sepulchre’s, London, where they have alread.y earned the approval of many who know a good choir when they hear one. Why cannot each diocese have its own society? With affiliation to the parent society and an annual meeting ol local representatives where the varying conditions of parishes might be discussed, difficulties would tend to disappear. Choirs and congregations would clearly recognise their true functions, latent enthusiasm would be aroused, and far more would be accomplished than at present seems practicable.
