APPOINTMENT OF JOINT TRAFFIC INSPECTORS URGED BY BOARD.
(Special to the “Star.”) WELLINGTON, December 7. Some time ago the Highways Board suggested to the local authorities that, with a view to the adoption of a satisfactory and uniform system of traffic control, the local authorities should consider combining and appointing joint traffic inspectors. The board has decided that, where satisfactory arrangements are made for the appointment of inspectors under approved conditions, the board will subsidise salary and expenses on the basis of £1 for £l.
