SPARKLING MUSICAL COMEDY PRESENTED AT NEW OPERA HOUSE.
This evening at the New Opera House, Fuller’s patrons will be greeted by “ Sunny,” the fifth production of Sir Benjamin and Mr John Fuller’s Musical Comedy Company, headed by Freddie Forbes. All of this exceptionally brilliant company, including Betty Lambert, Katherine Stewart, The Big Four, Ernest Arnley and Artie Fair, will be seen in “Sunny,” which is one of the brightest musical comedy plays that has ever been brought to the Dominion. The dancing is alluring and delightful. There Is a succession of attractive scenes—fields of poppites with poppy girls dancing gaily through the swaying blossoms. From the rise to the fall of the curtain, there is not a dull moment. The famous Big Four will present a specially selected collection of musical gems. “ Sunny,” the personality of the play, is a circus dancer who has fallen in love with Tom Warren. Tom, who does not quite realise that the one girl foi v him is Sunny, is engaged to Marcia Manners. Tom and Marcia, together with all their “gang/’ axte crossing to America, and Sunny, by divers amusing adventures, finds herself on the boat without a ticket or passport, largely by the agency of one Jim Deering, who has left his betrother, Weenie Winters, languishing in England. The gang persuades Jim that he must marry Sunny, formally only, so that she will be able to land in America, and also to save her from being compromised. This he does, and Sunny, married formally to the amiable Jim, begins to wonder how she is going to end up happily with the man she loves. Delightful complications come thick and fast, and the way the story works out is a tribute to the adroitness of the author. In itself it is a pretty story, end an excellent basis for the work of the talented company. The box plans are at the New Opera House Confectionery Shop.
