LORD BLEDISLOE TO SAIL FOR N.Z. LATE IN FEBRUARY.

The date has not yet been fixed for Lord Bledisloe’s departure, but it is understood he will sail late in February Lord Bledisloe has appointed Major A. H. Bathurst, his brother, as his Military Secretary. His regiment, the Royal Berkshires, is affiliated with the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Major Bathurst served in the South African and Great Wars, Afterward he was private secretary to Lord Irwin, when the latter was Under-Secretary for the Colonies in 1921-22. Major Bathurst is a keen social and church worker. Sir John Hanham is likely to be appointed Aide-de-Camp. He is a nephew of Lord Bledisloe’s first wife. Sir John Ludlow Hanham, Bart, late of the Grenadier Guards, was educated at Winchester and Oxford, After the war he was admitted as Barrister in the Inner Temple. He is thirty-one years old. •
