CARNIVAL ORGANISED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SOCIAL HALL SCHEME.
The monster carnival in aid of the Social Hall Fund will be held in the Linwood Avenue School grounds on Friday and Saturday. The opening ceremon}' will be performed by the Mayor (the Rev J. K. Archer) at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
Amongst the attractions to-morrow are a parade of decorated pramettes, bicycles and tricycles and a baby show lor babies under six months. On Saturday afternoon there will be a children’s fancy dress parade and a baby show for babies over six months and under twelve months. The stalls have been tastefully decorated by the lady helpers and lend much colour to the carnival, while the fcide shows will provide fun for young and old. A programme of sports hasbeen arranged, and races will be run on both afternoons. At night coloured lights will brilliantly illuminate the grounds. Derry’s Band will render programmes of selected music.
