WORK STARTS ON WIDENING COLOMBO STREET BRIDGE.
A start has been made on the work preparatory to the widening of the Colombo Street bridge. Some of the scaffolding has been erected on the western side of the bridge, and a clearance is being made for setting the foundations of the new portion. Progress is being made with the work of laying another set of tram rails across the bridge, to connect with the loops on each side.
