ELEVEN LOST LIVES IN WRECK OF NORWICH CITY.
TWENTY-ONE SURVIVORS MAROONED ON ISLAND. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received December 5, 11.30 a.m.) SUVA, December 5. The Norwich City is reported to be a total loss. Five whites and six Arabs were drowned when the vessel struck. There are twenty-one still on Gardner Island. Three of those rescued are aboard the Trongate. Enormous seas are hampering rescue work. A rocket line was sent ashore, and also water and provisions. The captain, officers and engineer of the wrecked vessel are safe.
