REPERTORY THEATRE SOCIETY TO STAGE SOME MORE PLAYS.
At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Repertory’ Theatre Society, the chairman (Professor JShelley) referred to the bereavement recently sustained by Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, the patron of the society. A motion of condolence with Sir Heaton Rhodes was adopted, the members standing. It was decided that the forthcoming production, “The Lilies of the Field,” should be staged at the Radiant Hall from Deceml>er 5 to 9, also that three one-act plays should be presented at the Jellicoe Hall on November 25. These plays are “ Legend,” produced by Mrs C. E. Beeby. “The Oak Settee,”, produced by Miss M. Hall, and “ The Open Door,” produced by Mrs Spence Clark. The offer of Mr J. G. Parry to organise an amateur orchestra to perform at the society’s production was grate-! fully accepted. The' resignation of Miss D. C. Farnie,: 8.A., as a member of the committee,! was accepted with regret, and the secretary was instructed to write thanking Miss Farnie for her valuable work. It was resolved to invite Miss Aitken to join the committee to fill the vacancy.
