Part of Coventry’s pageant this summer for raising fnds for the Coventry Hospital included a reconstruction of Lady Godiva’s famous ride through the streets of the old town in 1040, clad in her own virtue and her wonderful long flaxen hair. Miss Muriel Mellerup a girl from a humble home, filled the title role in the pageant.
