MUNICIPAL GOLF LINKS.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—Your correspondent on the above subject in Saturday's “Star” is presumably lamenting the congestion on the -inks, and the consequent danger to players. Why, then, does he retail, with glee, tales of his prowess in his younger days? How he “dropped his man” at 200 yards, when the poor fool was putting—an amazing breach of etiquette—thjs is one of the ‘unforgettables” of kis life. Within the space of a few lines we 4 read: 44 A smack from a golf ball is not usually a serious matter.” Why the effusion? And, “I once intercepted a low-sliced cleek shot on the ear. If that ball had got me under the ear at right angles, instead of at an angle ot 45 degrees, I think I would have been carried in from that game—an ideal death.” Then we have a cheitnu* in somewhat doubtful taste of “what I said to her and she said to me,” to conclude the autobiographical reminiscences.—l am, etc., STYMIE
