The final shot in the Health Week campaign was fifed yesterday after noon, when Dr Thacker, Mr A. M’Lachlan and the Rev A. M. Niblock addressed a poorly attended, public meeting in North Hagley Park. Derry’s Band was in attendance, and gave a programme of music from a stand which had been erected by a company of engineers under Major Dow. Dr Thacker, in his address, stressed the value of sunlight and of freshness in everything.
The seventeen-year-old girl, Margaret Mepzies, who has been missing from her home, 183, North East Belt, Ashburton, since the evening of September 29. returned home early yesterday morning. No information is availab e urn tne police regarding her mov: ments. but it is understood frum an other source that she was not far away from the town.
